Joel is a lifelong cyclist, engineer, and Air Force officer with 20 years of leadership and program management experience. His passion for road racing began while stationed in Northern Virginia and has grown into a commitment to building high-quality cycling events. Based in Dayton, Joel brings a strategic, detail-driven approach to every race he helps create, blending his love for the sport with a proven track record of execution.

Katie Holder

Katie Holder is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and engineer with over a decade of experience leading complex programs for the Air Force. While not a competitive cyclist herself, she brings a strong passion for the sport, a sharp eye for detail, and proven organizational expertise to every event. Katie plays a key role in delivering smooth, high-quality race experiences with precision and energy.

Orbital Racing, LLC

Orbital Racing, LLC is a veteran-owned, husband-and-wife-operated bicycle event management company dedicated to delivering high-quality cycling experiences. With a shared passion for the sport and a commitment to community engagement, the duo brings professionalism, attention to detail, and a personal touch to every event they organize. Whether coordinating grass-roots races or large-scale cycling festivals, Orbital Racing, LLC strives to create well-run events that celebrate the joy of cycling and foster a strong sense of community among participants and spectators alike.

All proceeds from Orbital Racing, LLC events are strategically reinvested to support the continued growth and integrity of the sport. These funds are allocated to:

(1) Expanding junior rider participation and advancing the development of the Juniors Cycling Program;

(2) Ensuring equal prize payouts for men’s and women’s race categories, promoting fairness and equity in competition; and

(3) Sustaining and enhancing the grassroots Orbital Crit Series, a cornerstone event series within the regional cycling community.
